Alaska Halibut Chowder

  • 6 slices chopped bacon
  • 1 medium chopped onion
  • 4 medium peeled & cubed potatoes
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cube butter
  • 1 pound halibut cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese, your choice
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Additions: steamed broccoli, corn, carrots, shrimp, salmon, or anything you desire... it is chowder and you can add whatever you like!

In a large pot cook the potatoes with just enough water to cover. While that is cooking, pan fry the bacon with the onion. When the potatoes are finished cooking, add the bacon & onion mix, mushrooms, can of mushroom soup, halibut, butter, and salt & pepper.

Thoroughly stir all ingredients to blend and then add the cheese. Serve with a nice green salad and crisp bread. This is really rich so plan accordingly....

This will serve a small army.
